Cyber Security Analyst – Tier 1 (SOC)

About the role

Gamma is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst – Tier 1 to join its Security Operations Centre (SOC). You will monitor security alerts, respond to incidents, and help strengthen the security posture of Gamma’s customers.

Key responsibilities

• Use SIEM tools to monitor, analyse, and triage security alerts.
• Investigate security breaches and handle incident escalation.
• Address security‑related queries and provide guidance to customers.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, actions taken, and resolutions.
• Assist in tuning security measures, developing use cases, and improving detection capabilities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to enhance security protocols and response strategies.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging threats, attack techniques, and industry best practices.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure security requirements are understood and implemented.

Required profile

• Experience with cybersecurity principles, attack detection, incident response, and security frameworks.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls) and threat intelligence.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to make decisions under pressure.
• Ability to convey complex security concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles and hybrid cloud environments.
• Proactive attitude toward staying updated on industry trends and new threats.
• Previous experience in a SOC or cybersecurity support role.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH or equivalent.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards like GDPR, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
