Cyber Security Data Analyst – Vulnerability Analyst

About the role

The Attack Surface Reduction (ASR) team at National Gas is looking for a Cyber Security Data Analyst to strengthen the security of Britain’s critical gas infrastructure. You will combine data‑analysis expertise with a solid understanding of cyber security to identify, assess and reduce vulnerabilities across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments using automated scanning tools and manual testing techniques.
• Generate detailed vulnerability reports with findings, recommendations and risk assessments for management and stakeholders.
• Manage the full lifecycle of vulnerabilities from discovery through remediation, including triage, prioritisation and tracking.
• Analyse the impact and severity of identified vulnerabilities to support risk‑based decision making.
• Collaborate with system administrators, developers and IT teams to plan and implement remediation and patch management.
• Provide security awareness guidance and training to employees.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and investigative abilities, with confidence in using MS Excel and Power BI.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross‑team collaboration.
• Ability to prioritise multiple activities in a fast‑changing environment.
• Self‑initiative and a positive attitude toward learning and development.

• Salary between £44,642 and £49,894 per year plus bonus.
