Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our growing Engineering practice. You will work across cloud, on‑premises and hybrid environments, helping clients protect their systems, applications and data while staying ahead of emerging threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage security tools, systems and processes.
• Partner with engineering and security teams to embed security best practices.
• Automate security tooling, including SIEM log ingestion and firewall management.
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards and procedures.
• Conduct security assessments using frameworks such as CIS benchmarks.

Required profile

• Strong technical expertise in cyber security and platform engineering.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multiple teams.
• Passion for continuous learning and staying current with the threat landscape.
• Willingness to obtain BPSS and a UK security clearance.

Required skills

• Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Cribl, ELK).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with Linux/WSL environments.
• Understanding of networking, firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management and endpoint security.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, virtualization, Infrastructure as Code and AI hardening techniques.
• Background working in SOC or incident response teams.
