Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Cyber Security Engineer to join a leading professional services firm in Leeds. The role is hybrid, with three days a week in the office, and focuses on protecting critical systems and data while advancing our security operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage security solutions using Microsoft Sentinel, Security Copilot and Azure.
• Drive improvements in threat detection, incident response and overall security posture.
• Collaborate with internal IT teams and an outsourced SOC/MDR provider to strengthen defenses.
• Support AI‑driven security initiatives and stay ahead of emerging threats such as ransomware and identity‑based attacks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cyber security operations, incident response or threat detection.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM) and Azure cloud security.
• Experience with Microsoft Security Copilot or similar AI‑assisted security tools.
• Familiarity with modern cyber threats and working with outsourced SOC/MDR providers.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., SC‑200, AZ‑500, Security+, CySA+).
