Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Cyber Security Engineer to join Required IT’s security team in Bromley. The role starts onsite for three months before moving to a hybrid schedule, offering the chance to protect a dynamic environment using Rapid7 and Microsoft Defender.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor Rapid7 and Microsoft Defender platforms 24/7 to detect security events.
• Investigate, analyse and respond to alerts, incidents and suspicious activity.
• Conduct detailed investigations, document findings and recommend remediation.
• Identify security gaps, vulnerabilities and propose quick‑win improvements.
• Support incident response, remediation and security awareness training initiatives.
• Collaborate with IT teams to embed security best practices and contribute to security projects.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Rapid7 and Microsoft Defender.
• Background in a SOC or security‑focused environment handling alerts and incidents.
• Solid understanding of endpoint security, threat detection and incident response processes.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems and communicate findings clearly.
