Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

Bupa is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to shape, implement and maintain its enterprise security framework. Working hybrid from Angel Court, Staines or Manchester, you will support both on‑premise and cloud/SAAS environments, ensuring security tools and processes protect our digital services.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, implement and manage security hardware and software across on‑premise and cloud platforms.
• Own the performance, tuning, allow‑listing and patching of security monitoring tools.
• Develop playbooks, policies and custom rule sets to raise security maturity.
• Contribute to incident response and recovery strategies, and validate hardware/software compliance.
• Collaborate with vendors, architects and product teams to embed security requirements.
• Mentor team members and drive automation of repetitive security tasks.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal skills to partner with IT and business stakeholders at all levels.
• Broad IT background with experience in business‑as‑usual security operations.
• Continuous learning mindset to stay current with emerging threats.
