Cyber Security Lead

About the role

QBE Europe is seeking a Cyber Security Lead to join its European Cyber Security team in London. The role is responsible for both operational delivery and advisory services, helping to protect the business from sophisticated cyber and information‑security threats. You will work across the organisation to embed security best‑practice, drive continuous improvement and support strategic outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver an effective cyber and information‑security capability across QBE, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation and engagement.
• Develop and promote cyber‑security awareness and best‑practice throughout the business.
• Build strong collaborative relationships, providing advice and solving root‑cause security problems.
• Identify security weaknesses, lead remediation efforts and see mitigation through to secure resolution.
• Drive cyber‑security engagement, ensuring issues are reported, escalated and communicated to key stakeholders.
• Act with integrity and transparency in threat identification, risk analysis and problem solving.
• Lead the development, execution and assurance of cyber‑security policies, standards, processes and templates.
• Manage and quality‑assure cyber‑security services and outsourced activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading cyber‑security programmes within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong analytical mindset with curiosity and the ability to translate deep technical knowledge into actionable insight.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, able to influence senior stakeholders.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying ahead of emerging threats.
