Cyber Security Network Engineer – London

About the role

The bank is seeking a motivated, hands‑on Cyber Security Network Engineer to own its technical security posture. You will protect critical banking systems, manage perimeter and application security platforms, and ensure compliance across all network environments.

Key responsibilities

• Run regular vulnerability scans, triage findings, coordinate remediation and report KPIs to senior leadership.
• Manage Cisco Firepower next‑generation firewalls, F5 ASM/WAF, and Citrix ADC/NetScaler load balancers.
• Maintain remote‑access VPNs, site‑to‑site IPsec tunnels and NAC policies for micro‑segmentation.
• Monitor SIEM alerts, develop detection use cases and support incident response for network‑level incidents.
• Establish secure configuration baselines (CIS Benchmarks) and design zone‑based network segmentation for SWIFT, card processing and core banking.
• Author detailed change requests, execute zero‑downtime deployments and lead peer reviews.
• Perform security reviews, threat modelling for new projects and coordinate annual penetration testing.

Required profile

• 5+ years of network engineering experience with a strong focus on cyber security.
• Background in a regulated financial institution or similar enterprise environment.
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco Firepower, F5 ASM/WAF and Citrix NetScaler.
• Proven ability to manage vulnerability programs, patch cycles and compliance reporting.
