Cycle Technician

About the role

Halfords is looking for a passionate Cycle Technician to join its Dorchester store on a part‑time basis. You will combine technical know‑how with a love for bicycles to deliver high‑quality service and repair for a wide range of bikes, from kids' models to premium electric cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, building and repair on all types of cycles, including electric models.
• Provide expert advice to customers on bike maintenance, parts and accessories.
• Achieve sales targets by recommending suitable products and services.
• Support and mentor fellow team members in technical tasks.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in cycle service, building or repair, preferably in a retail setting.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Proven ability to meet sales targets and work on a rota, including weekends.
• Willingness to share knowledge and help develop colleagues.
