Data Analyst Apprenticeship 2027 - Cheltenham

About the role

Howden, a global insurance group, offers a permanent Data Analyst Apprenticeship in Cheltenham starting September 2027. You will join the Data Science and Analytics team and complete an 18-month development programme, earning £23,000. The apprenticeship is Level 3 Data & AI Foundations, and you will work in the office at least 3-4 days per week, living within commuting distance.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced colleagues in the Data Science and Analytics team after a structured induction.
• Gain exposure to both data analytics and data science, covering analysis, reporting and data modelling.
• Support live data projects for different areas of the Retail business.
• Analyse datasets to spot patterns, trends, gaps or unusual results.
• Clean, organise and check data before analysis, correcting errors and inconsistencies.
• Turn findings into clear reports for key business stakeholders.
• Learn to use tools such as Power BI, SQL and Python.

Required profile

• No insurance experience needed; training is provided.
• Interest in data, technology, IT or coding and eagerness to learn.
• Comfortable with numbers and logical thinking, and a strong problem solver.
• Attentive to detail, able to communicate clearly and enjoy collaboration.
• Organised and able to manage several tasks at once.
• Full and unrestricted right to work in the UK, having lived permanently there for the last 3 years, with a grade C/4 in GCSE English and B/5 in GCSE Maths.
