Data Analyst

About the role

As a Data Analyst based at Catalyst’s North East headquarters, you will turn customer, sales and operational data into clear, actionable insight. Working closely with Marketing, Operations and Finance, you will help improve customer experience and business performance through data‑driven recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain dashboards and self‑service reports (e.g., Power BI) for membership, sales and retention metrics.
• Automate recurring reporting to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
• Ensure reports are accurate, well‑documented and easy for non‑technical users to interpret.
• Analyse trends in customer growth, churn, engagement and campaign performance.
• Respond to ad‑hoc analysis requests from Marketing, Operations and Finance.
• Identify patterns and flag risks or opportunities to relevant stakeholders.
• Validate incoming data feeds from customer, EPOS and marketing systems.
• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies in collaboration with the Data Engineer.
• Maintain clear documentation of report logic and data sources.
• Present findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Support the Lead Data Analyst in prioritising the analytics workload.

Required profile

• Strong commercial Data Analyst experience in a fast‑moving, growing tech or health‑consumer business.
• Degree or equivalent in a data‑focused or numerate discipline.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to analysis.
• Curious and analytical mindset with interest in uncovering data stories.

Required skills

• SQL (strong proficiency with large datasets).
• Python or R for data analysis.
• Advanced Excel.
• Power BI or Tableau.
