Data Architect (Hybrid)

About the role

This hybrid position sits at the intersection of data modelling, engineering and governance. Reporting to the CTG Architecture function and working closely with underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance and data teams, you will shape enterprise‑scale data architectures and robust pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage enterprise data architecture, standards and principles for both operational and analytical domains.
• Ensure new data products and changes align with the enterprise data strategy and prevent technical debt.
• Partner with portfolio architects to assess impact of business initiatives on the data landscape.
• Define and govern data modelling standards, selecting model‑first or data‑first approaches as appropriate.
• Support the Head of Data Platforms in delivering batch ETL/ELT pipelines and selecting integration patterns.
• Provide quality assurance for data engineers, ensuring adherence to architectural patterns and coding standards.
• Assist cloud migration from on‑premises SQL Server/SSIS to Azure and Snowflake‑based solutions.
• Act as the primary data architecture authority, engaging with stakeholders and external partners.
