Data Architect

About the role

This is a hybrid London‑based position with a purpose‑driven health regulator that is expanding its digital and data capabilities. You will own enterprise and project‑level data architecture, influencing how data is structured, governed and leveraged across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Drive enterprise data modelling and governance through the Data Architecture Framework (DAF).
• Develop conceptual and logical models (UML), taxonomies, ontologies and data glossaries.
• Map data flows and establish lineage across the enterprise ecosystem.
• Support and evolve Microsoft D365 and downstream medallion data architecture.
• Administer and maintain the model repository with strong version control and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, governance and business teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Champion data architecture best practice across the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven data architecture experience or a strong data engineering background with architectural aspirations.
• Advanced data modelling skills (conceptual, logical and physical).
• Experience with modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Strong understanding of data methodologies (Kimball, transactional, OBT) and appropriate application.
• Knowledge of DAMA DMBoK principles and enterprise data governance.
• Hands‑on experience with the Microsoft stack (Azure, Fabric, D365).
