Data Center Technician – Operations, IT & Support Engineering

About the role

Join Amazon Web Services as a Data Center Technician, supporting the design, delivery and operation of AWS global infrastructure. You will work in a fast‑paced data centre environment, troubleshooting hardware and software issues to keep the cloud running for millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve facility and rack‑level incidents within defined Service‑Level Agreements.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of equipment failures and document findings.
• Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures and technical documentation.
• Act as an escalation point for junior technicians and provide guidance on complex problems.
• Execute small‑scale projects independently and assist with larger local initiatives.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation, covering emergencies, after‑hours calls and shift work as required.
• Travel to other sites up to 10% of the time.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
• Self‑motivated with the capacity to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.
• Effective communication skills for documenting procedures and mentoring junior staff.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including 12‑hour or rotating shifts.
