Data Centre Engineer – 24/7 Support

About the role

ONNEC Group is seeking a Data Centre Engineer to deliver IMACD services within a prestigious client data centre. The role operates on a 24x7x365 shift pattern, supporting sites in Slough, Woking and across Greater & Central London.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installations, de‑commissions and upgrades of server and networking equipment.
• Conduct Nlyte health checks, manage change requests, incidents and access requests.
• Handle handovers, stock management, switch‑port inventory and receipt of parts.
• Execute failed media disposal processes and maintain organised office and storerooms.
• Attend meetings punctually, respond to client emails promptly and contribute to rota planning.
• Identify and suggest improvements to everyday processes.
• Support the Data Centre Manager, Service Delivery Manager and related teams to ensure excellent client service.

Required profile

• Experience working in high‑risk environments and data centres.
• Sound knowledge of infrastructure technologies and networking concepts.
• Competent in MS Office and help‑desk/service‑delivery applications.
• Reliable, able to work under pressure and flexible with shift patterns.
• Clear communication at all organisational levels.
• Strong organisational, interpersonal and administrative abilities.
