Data Engineer – Global SaaS Organization

About the role

Join a leading global SaaS organisation as a Data Engineer within the International Engineering team. You will design and operate data pipelines that power AI/ML experiences for partner teams, working in a hybrid environment on a 12‑month contract with potential for permanent placement.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for BigQuery using Cloud Composer and Airflow.
• Provide observability and monitoring with Monte Carlo, Looker, New Relic and Splunk to ensure reliability and data quality.
• Develop critical data quality checks to meet security and compliance requirements.
• Participate in code and technical design reviews.
• Scope and plan work together with product engineering, data science and business stakeholders.
• Support teams on data tracking, collection, ingestion, quality monitoring and alerting.

Required profile

• 3+ years experience managing batch or streaming data pipelines using GCP, Dataflow/Apache Beam, Dataproc, Spark/Flink, dbt.
• Proficient in Python, SQL and shell scripting.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or Salt.
• 3+ years developing applications in Scala, Java and/or Python.
• Full‑lifecycle software development experience, including CI/CD.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts through design documentation.
