Data Engineer – Hybrid, up to £50,000

About the role

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join a fast‑growing technology team in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The role is hybrid, with three days per week in the office, and offers the chance to shape a modern data platform that drives operational efficiency and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, process and transform data from multiple sources.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data‑driven solutions.
• Develop and maintain data models for reporting, analytics and business intelligence.
• Implement and manage orchestration workflows, including monitoring and error handling.
• Support ad‑hoc reporting, management information and analytical requests.
• Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.

Required profile

• Previous experience working as a Data Engineer.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes and data‑warehousing concepts.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud data platform, preferably Azure.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering and automation.
