Data Engineer / Integration Analyst (Python)

About the role

We are seeking a Data Engineer / Integration Analyst with strong Python expertise to join a hedge fund’s technical team in London. The role sits at the intersection of data, technology and financial markets, delivering reliable data solutions that support investment research and trading.

Key responsibilities

• Develop scalable pipelines for sourcing, processing and distributing large volumes of market and alternative data.
• Automate the onboarding of new data providers, applying engineering best practices.
• Enhance the data platform’s reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Implement monitoring and control mechanisms to detect issues before they affect users.
• Collaborate with research and trading teams to translate requirements into effective data solutions.
• Contribute to the evolution of a modern, cloud‑based data ecosystem.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Python and SQL.
• Exposure to cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Hands‑on experience handling large, data‑centric applications.
• Understanding of database technologies and modern storage solutions.
• Familiarity with source‑control systems and collaborative development practices.
