Data Engineer Internship – 3 Months

About the role

This 3‑month internship provides hands‑on experience in modern data engineering within large‑scale retail and healthcare environments. You will work with Azure Databricks and other Azure data services to build data pipelines and lakehouse solutions that drive business insights.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of data pipelines using Databricks and Azure data platform services.
• Assist in data ingestion, transformation, and storage within Lakehouse architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Work with Python, PySpark, and SQL to process and analyse datasets.
• Collaborate with team members to understand data requirements and business needs.
• Contribute to improving data quality, performance, and reliability of data pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews and learn best practices in data engineering.
• Support integration of data from multiple sources into enterprise platforms.
• Document workflows, processes, and technical learnings.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of Python, SQL, or data processing concepts.
• Understanding of data engineering fundamentals (data pipelines, ETL/ELT concepts).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms or willingness to learn Azure data services.
• Interest in working with large‑scale datasets and analytics solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and willingness to collaborate in team environments.
• Academic background in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.
• Eagerness to learn.
