Data Engineer – Junior to Mid-Level

About the role

We are seeking a Junior to Mid‑Level Data Engineer to join our client’s data team in London. The position is permanent, offers a salary between £45k and £65k, and requires only one day in the office every three months, allowing you to work remotely most of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, document and maintain robust data transformation and cleaning processes for live systems and analytical workflows.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements for new data products and translate them into technical plans.
• Ensure process quality through best‑practice coding, version control, documentation and peer reviews.
• Investigate data issues and drive continuous improvement in data quality.
• Migrate legacy processes to modern data platforms such as Snowflake.
• Learn and adopt new tools and techniques to expand the data processing toolkit.

Required profile

• Minimum 2:1 in a relevant technical degree.
• 2‑4 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across functional teams.

Required skills

• SQL and relational database architecture.
• Python programming.
• Microsoft Azure.
• Power BI, Tableau, Qlik and Cognos for data visualisation.
• Snowflake data‑warehouse platform.
