Data Engineer – Lead Data Platform Development

A large and respected organisation is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead the evolution of its data engineering capability and help deliver a modern, data‑driven future. This senior technical leadership position offers the chance to shape enterprise‑wide data strategy, architecture, platforms and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction of the organisation's data engineering function.
• Design and deliver enterprise‑scale data platforms, pipelines and integration solutions.
• Champion best practices across data architecture, governance, security and quality.
• Drive adoption and optimisation of cloud‑based data technologies.
• Collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data capabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise‑scale data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services and cloud‑based data platforms.
• Advanced SQL and data modelling skills.
• Experience with metadata management and data integration approaches.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and experience resolving complex technical challenges.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
