Data Engineer – Microsoft Fabric & Azure (6‑Month Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join a client on a six‑month contract, working remotely from the UK. The role focuses on designing and building modern data solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem, delivering scalable reporting and analytics for business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop end‑to‑end data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse.
• Build and optimise data models, warehousing structures and ELT processes.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to translate requirements into robust data solutions.
• Produce Power BI reports and dashboards that support decision‑making.
• Maintain data quality, performance and security across Azure SQL/SQL Server environments.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data‑focused role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with the Microsoft data stack (Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Azure SQL, Power BI).
• Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, ETL/ELT and data integration concepts.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and ability to solve complex data problems.
• Excellent analytical mindset and ability to engage with stakeholders.
