Data Engineer – Security Cleared (Outside IR35)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a high‑profile digital transformation programme for the UK public sector. Working in a hybrid model (one day on‑site per week), you will help design and deliver modern, cloud‑based data solutions using AWS technologies while maintaining the required Security Clearance (SC) outside IR35.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Build robust data migration and transformation solutions for large‑scale datasets.
• Ensure data quality, validation and integrity throughout migration activities.
• Leverage AWS cloud services to deliver secure and reliable data solutions.
• Collaborate with architects, developers and stakeholders to achieve project goals.
• Support testing, deployment and ongoing optimisation of data solutions.

Required profile

• Active Security Clearance (SC) for the role.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in regulated environments such as healthcare.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• SQL and relational database expertise.
• ETL and data migration techniques.
• AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue).
• Data modelling, validation and quality assurance.
