Data Engineer – Up to £80k + Bonus – Newcastle

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing technology‑driven organisation in Newcastle that is building a world‑class engineering and data capability. As a Data Engineer you will join a high‑performing data team to design, develop and operate a centralised data platform that powers critical business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines to ingest and transform data from multiple sources.
• Develop and enhance a central data platform ensuring performance, reliability and scalability.
• Maintain and improve data quality, integrity and availability across systems.
• Write and optimise SQL and Python‑based transformations.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to improve data accessibility and usability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and adoption of modern data technologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer in fast‑paced, delivery‑focused environments.
• Strong programming skills in Python and advanced SQL.
• Hands‑on experience building data pipelines, ETL processes and data platforms.
• Experience with Databricks or similar modern data tools.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Excellent communication skills to engage technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
