Data Engineering Manager (Remote, UK)

About the role

IVC Evidensia is modernising its data ecosystem by moving from a traditional SQL data warehouse to a Databricks Lakehouse architecture. As a Data Engineering Manager you will lead a high‑performing team of 4‑8 engineers, working remotely across the UK with occasional visits to the Keynsham office.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a data engineering team, fostering a culture of trust and continuous improvement.
• Own delivery of data products, ensuring incremental releases, clear progress visibility and high quality.
• Define technical direction for the Databricks Lakehouse platform, guiding architecture and engineering decisions.
• Maintain reliability, observability and performance of the data system.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, infrastructure and regional data partners to deliver a federated data platform.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing data engineering teams in a fast‑moving environment.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on building high‑performing, accountable teams.
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across technical and non‑technical groups.
