Data Governance & Quality Lead (Fixed‑Term, up to 24 months)

About the role

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is seeking a Data Governance and Quality Lead to support its Digital Transformation Programme. This temporary, fixed‑term position will help raise the organisation’s data maturity, ensuring data is trustworthy and can drive decision‑making across the charity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the data governance framework, defining roles such as owners, stewards, controllers and ambassadors.
• Manage communications and stakeholder engagement to embed best practices and drive cultural change.
• Coordinate data audits, assess data‑management maturity and negotiate acceptable quality levels.
• Provide data condition reporting and root‑cause analysis, working with teams to implement tactical and strategic solutions.
• Support the adoption of robust validation, analysis and quality practices throughout the transformation journey.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data governance, data quality or data‑management leadership.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to influence and drive organisational change.
• Experience working in a hybrid environment with regular office presence.

• Salary between £42,479 and £49,976 per year, dependent on experience.
