Data Officer – School Data Management

About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail‑oriented Data Officer to support the effective management of data systems within our thriving secondary school. The role involves maintaining accurate student and school data, producing reports, and assisting staff with data‑related processes. You will work closely with senior leaders and administrative teams to ensure information is reliable and accessible.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate student and school data across the school’s management information systems.
• Collect, validate and process assessment, attendance and pupil information.
• Produce routine and ad‑hoc reports for staff and senior leaders.
• Assist with data audits, quality assurance checks and GDPR compliance.
• Support census returns, statutory data submissions and the upkeep of pupil records.
• Develop and improve internal data processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with teaching and support staff, presenting data clearly and responding to queries.
• Provide guidance on the use of data systems and reporting tools.

Required profile

• Experience working with school data and management information systems.
• Proven ability to produce reports and handle large volumes of data.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills with high accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Desirable: experience with Arbor, SIMS, Bromcom or similar MIS platforms and knowledge of school census and statutory returns.
