Data Platform Architect (Security Cleared)

About the role

We are seeking a Data Platform Architect to join our consulting team delivering large‑scale data, analytics and AI transformation programmes for government and other highly regulated organisations. You will operate at the intersection of architecture, engineering and client engagement, shaping technical strategy and influencing senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver enterprise‑scale data, analytics and AI platforms in AWS environments.
• Define target‑state architectures, technology roadmaps and strategic data capabilities.
• Build cloud‑native solutions for data ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, analytics and AI workloads.
• Architect both batch and real‑time streaming data processing pipelines.
• Create API‑first, microservices‑based solutions that scale with business demand.
• Support adoption of Machine Learning, Generative AI, foundation and agentic AI approaches.
• Advise clients on data governance, security, compliance and responsible AI practices.
• Lead technical teams across multiple workstreams and act as senior escalation point for architectural challenges.
• Mentor architects and engineers, driving best practice in MLOps, AIOps, CI/CD and modern cloud engineering.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and delivering modern data platforms, analytics solutions and AI architectures.
• Deep expertise in AWS‑based data and analytics ecosystems.
• Strong understanding of cloud‑native architecture and distributed systems.
• Proven ability to design solutions across the full data value chain, including real‑time streaming.
• Excellent communication skills and experience influencing senior stakeholders.
