Data Principal

About the role

AND Digital is looking for a Data Principal in Leeds to provide expert technical consulting and architectural leadership for its clients. The role balances technical authority with strategic consulting, working closely with delivery teams and client stakeholders to solve complex enterprise data challenges, design scalable modern data platforms and ensure high-quality technical execution across client portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Guide clients through complex data transformations and turn business challenges into robust technical solutions
• Translate complex data concepts into clear business value for non-technical stakeholders while keeping credibility with engineering teams
• Design extensible, secure data products and architectures that meet the evolving needs of business and users
• Champion quality assurance, robust testing and performance tuning, and keep pace with industry standards and emerging technologies
• Mentor engineers, share knowledge and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams

Required profile

• Proven track record of advising clients on complex data problems
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving complex technical problems collaboratively
• Clear communicator who builds trust quickly with technical teams and business stakeholders
• Pragmatic, adaptable, outcome-focused and willing to mentor others

Required skills

• Modern data stack: Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric
• Data architecture, data modelling and AI/Data Science
• Full data lifecycle: discovery, storage, pipelines, ETL, streaming, data quality, metadata management and analytics
• Cloud services and an Agile mindset
• Python and SQL
