Data Privacy Lawyer – Hybrid (UK)

About the role

The ICO is seeking a qualified lawyer to join its Data Privacy Advice team. You will provide high‑quality, risk‑based legal advice on data protection, cyber security and related legislation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely legal advice on UK GDPR, DPA 2018, FOIA 2000, PECR 2003 and NIS 2018.
• Manage a caseload of queries, ensuring compliance with ICO standards and policy.
• Ensure published guidance is legally accurate and up‑to‑date.
• Liaise with case officers, managers and decision‑makers on ongoing matters.
• Represent the ICO externally at meetings and events.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in data protection and cyber‑related matters.
• Ability to provide clear, risk‑based advice to senior stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple legal queries.
