About the role
We are seeking a Data Privacy Specialist to join our team in Glasgow for a three-month contract. The role focuses on delivering privacy expertise across the organisation, ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and related legislation while supporting business delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Draft and review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy risk assessments, proposing mitigation measures.
- Provide advice on UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 and related requirements.
- Manage data subject rights requests, including subject access requests, redaction and disclosure processes.
- Support personal data breach investigations, assessments and lessons‑learned activities.
- Offer practical privacy guidance to projects, services and business teams, embedding privacy‑by‑design principles.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of UK data protection legislation and information governance.
- Hands‑on experience conducting DPIAs and managing privacy risk.
- Proven ability to handle data subject rights requests and privacy casework.
- Excellent written communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in a public‑sector, regulated or customer‑focused environment.
