Data Protection Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Data Protection Coordinator to join Catch22’s Data Protection team. In this role you will support the Data Protection Officer in ensuring the charity complies with UK data protection legislation and provides practical guidance to services and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection queries, delivering timely advice and escalating complex issues to the DPO.
• Manage the Data Protection Team mailbox, triage requests, prioritize workload and resolve issues.
• Handle data protection incidents from risk assessment through to escalation of high‑risk cases.
• Maintain the Data Subject Rights log, track requests and ensure statutory deadlines are met.
• Coordinate and process Data Subject Rights and Subject Access Requests, including verification, information gathering and secure disclosure.
• Advise on and support the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) before review by the DPO.
• Prioritise workload to meet organisational and regulatory deadlines, identifying risks and recommending actions.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good judgement when handling non‑routine or complex data protection cases.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection legislation.
• Experience with handling Subject Access Requests and Data Subject Rights.
• Familiarity with Data Protection Impact Assessments.
