Data Scientist (Hybrid) – London

About the role

This position is part of a newly established Analytics & Advisory function within a global insurance organisation. The Data Scientist will work with real‑world insurance, market and client data to enable insight‑led decision making across pricing, portfolio analytics, client segmentation and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse large insurance‑related datasets to uncover trends and support business decisions.
• Develop and maintain analytical models for pricing, portfolio risk and client segmentation.
• Create interactive visualisations and dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations.
• Document methodologies and ensure data quality and governance standards are met.

Required profile

• Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Experience or interest in the insurance or other regulated industries is beneficial.
• Exposure to machine‑learning techniques is advantageous.

Required skills

• Python or R programming.
• SQL and relational database experience.
• Data visualisation using Power BI or Tableau.
