Data Scientist – Insights (Hybrid, Manchester)

About the role

PHMG is modernising its data capability and is looking for a Data Scientist to join the Insights function in Manchester. This hybrid role will help the business turn complex data into actionable insights that drive commercial growth and improve customer experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Perform statistical analysis to uncover new commercial opportunities.
• Develop predictive models for subscription renewals, churn, and revenue trends.
• Profile and segment the client base to identify upselling and cross‑selling opportunities.
• Support ad‑hoc analysis requests, delivering rapid insights for decision‑making.
• Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to improve data models.
• Present findings to stakeholders in clear, actionable formats.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in a sales or commercial environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a can‑do attitude.
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex insights into simple recommendations.
• Self‑starter who works well within cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Python (including scikit‑learn and pandas).
• SQL.
• Machine learning and statistical modelling.
• Experience with MS Fabric (desirable).
