Day & Night Care Assistants

About the role

We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our residential care home in Royston as Day or Night Care Assistants. You will support older residents by providing personal care, promoting wellbeing, and ensuring a safe, dignified environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, grooming, oral hygiene and continence care while respecting privacy.
• Plan and prepare meals according to dietary needs and help residents who require feeding assistance.
• Support mobility, including transferring residents, using hoists and other aids.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, laundry, dishwashing and running errands.
• Provide companionship, engage in conversation, organise activities and accompany residents to appointments.
• Observe and report any changes in physical or mental health to senior staff promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in a residential or nursing care setting.
• Compassionate, patient and reliable with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and handle de‑escalation situations.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
