Day Support Worker – Learning Disabilities Service

About the role

Join Glenholme’s Holdingham Specialist service as a Day Support Worker supporting adults with learning disabilities. You will work on a 37.5‑hour week, covering shifts from 7 am to 10 pm and alternating weekends, providing compassionate day‑to‑day assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Offer companionship and emotional support throughout the day.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene and wellbeing activities.
• Teach and encourage independent living skills.
• Support medication management safely and accurately.
• Participate in community outings such as swimming, cinema or social events.

Required profile

• A friendly, caring attitude with a genuine smile.
• Patience, empathy and the ability to see the lighter side of life.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including alternate weekends.
• Openness to training – no prior experience required.

Required skills

• Basic personal care techniques.
• Medication handling and record‑keeping.
• Ability to support independent living activities.

What we offer

• Hourly rate £12.95, rising to £13.20 for complex service work.
• Up to £128 bonus for completing e‑learning before start.
