Day Support Worker – You Matter

About the role

You Matter is seeking a compassionate Day Support Worker to provide practical and emotional assistance to residents in supported accommodation across the Liverpool City Region. Working on a rota‑based schedule, including weekends, you will help individuals move towards greater independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support to residents within supported accommodation or community settings.
• Build trusting, professional relationships and act as a key worker where required.
• Support individuals to access services, appointments, education, training or employment.
• Assist with developing life skills such as budgeting, cooking and tenancy management.
• Deliver person‑centred support in line with individual support plans.
• Maintain accurate records, support plans and risk assessments.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes.
• Manage and de‑escalate challenging behaviours in a calm and supportive manner.

Required profile

• Passion for supporting people to achieve independence and positive change.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate, non‑judgemental approach.
• Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
• Experience in homelessness, mental health, addiction or a related field is desirable.
