Days Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias (Double Days)

About the role

We are seeking a multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Chard. The role operates on a double‑days shift with an early finish on Fridays, offering a stable long‑term career in a modern production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Fault finding on electrical and mechanical production equipment.
• Working with three‑phase systems, motors, drives, relays, sensors, contactors and control panels.
• Supporting reactive breakdowns and executing planned preventative maintenance.
• Performing mechanical maintenance on bearings, chains, gearboxes, belts and conveyors.
• Assisting continuous‑improvement projects and site‑wide engineering initiatives.
• Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and site procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production maintenance setting.
• Strong electrical bias with proven fault‑finding ability.
• Comfortable working on both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, apprenticeship or equivalent) are advantageous.
• Proactive, team‑focused attitude.
