DCO Consents Manager – Hybrid (6‑Month Contract)

About the role

Join a leading gas transportation organisation dedicated to securing Britain’s energy future. As a DCO Consents Manager you will drive the consenting strategy for high‑value infrastructure projects, supporting the UK’s Net Zero ambitions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement consenting strategies for large‑scale projects, covering DCO, TCP(A) and Pipelines Act processes.
• Oversee Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) to strengthen consent applications.
• Provide expert advice on consent risks, mitigation and programme impacts to senior stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulators, landowners, communities and external affairs teams.
• Represent the organisation at hearings and public inquiries, coaching colleagues as needed.
• Manage external consultants and suppliers, controlling budgets, performance and resources.
• Lead and develop a growing team of Consents Officers.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering consents for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs).
• In‑depth knowledge of the UK planning system and consenting processes, including DCO and EIA.
• Track record of managing complex, multi‑site infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills with regulators and communities.
• Demonstrable leadership experience.
