Dealership Accountant – Car Finance Role

About the role

This full‑time position is based at a busy car dealership in Barnet. You will own the end‑to‑end accounts function for a high‑turnover, low‑sales‑volume business, providing accurate management information and supporting the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with detailed analysis and commentary.
• Collate and examine purchase and sales ledger data from the central accounting department.
• Provide analytical support across the business, evaluating profit optimisation and cash‑flow.
• Monitor performance measurement tools for projects and produce conclusions.
• Review capital and project appraisals, and consolidate group budgets and forecasts.
• Undertake investigative and analytical exercises and ad‑hoc projects as required.

Required profile

• Proven track record within the motor industry, preferably in a car dealership.
• Strong technical and analytical accounting skills.
• Self‑motivated, methodical and able to work independently while supporting the team.
• Excellent written communication and the ability to liaise with senior finance directors.
