Debt Advice Business Development Manager

About the role

Join the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) as a Debt Advice Business Development Manager and help shape the future of debt advice across the UK. You will work within a dynamic, supportive team to develop commissioning‑ready service models and secure new funding streams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide sector insight, market intelligence and evidence on delivery feasibility to support the design of commissioning‑ready services.
• Collaborate with the Senior Debt Advice Innovation Manager and commissioning colleagues on major community‑based and national programmes.
• Identify emerging needs, service gaps and opportunities, translating them into actionable evidence for service development.
• Develop and maintain relationships with potential funders, negotiating co‑funding arrangements to expand the impact of MaPS‑funded services.
• Support the transition of pilot insights into scalable, sustainable service provision.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, funding acquisition or partnership management within the finance or public‑service sector.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret market data and translate it into strategic recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement at senior levels.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
