Debt Recovery Agent – Temporary (Southend-on-Sea)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Debt Recovery Agent to join our team on a temporary basis in Southend‑on‑Sea. You will support the debt recovery process by managing outstanding accounts, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely collection of payments.

Key responsibilities

• Chase and recover outstanding debts in a professional and timely manner.
• Communicate with customers and relevant parties to resolve payment queries.
• Maintain accurate records and update internal systems.
• Prepare debt reports and assist with account reconciliation.
• Process payments and support financial administration.
• Produce basic management information and reports using Excel and other systems.
• Escalate cases where appropriate and ensure supporting documentation is complete.
• Provide general administrative support and undertake other duties as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in debt recovery, credit control or a similar finance administration role.
• Good communication and negotiation abilities.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
