Defence Flight Dynamics Engineer

About the role

Astroscale UK is looking for a Defence Flight Dynamics Engineer to develop and evolve flight‑dynamics software for space‑control missions. You will work closely with the flight dynamics team, commercial defence customers and the Chief Engineer to deliver robust, mission‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate and maintain software components of the Flight Dynamics system for defence customers.
• Support business development, bid preparation and customer workshops related to space‑control capabilities.
• Specify and implement flight‑dynamics algorithms, and produce verification and validation documentation.
• Participate in ground‑segment verification, validation, integration and mission‑system test campaigns.
• Provide technical support to operations engineers and act as product owner for external supplier teams.
• Follow Agile (SCRUM) processes to manage requirements, user stories and delivery schedules.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Astronautics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial space or defence flight‑dynamics experience.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC level or higher).
• Fluent spoken and written English.
