Delivery Director - Software Engineering

About the role

Our client is building a modern digital platform to transform their industry, making it more responsive and customer‑centric. As they approach operational launch, they need a hands‑on Delivery Director to bridge delivery and real‑world readiness, actively solving problems, influencing the board and raising release quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the Digital programme plan, inputs and forecasting.
• Influence senior leadership and act as the primary liaison between the client and release‑readiness workstreams.
• Manage delivery budgets, including forecasting financial requirements.
• Support benefits realisation by encouraging effective operating‑model decisions.
• Establish robust governance frameworks, work with the PMO and board to identify, track and mitigate risks and issues.

Required profile

• Typically 5+ years of experience in programme management or digital transformation, with a proven track record in end‑to‑end change delivery and product release management.
• Strong command of recognised project and programme management frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
• Relevant certifications such as MSP, PRINCE2, APMQ or Agile Scrum Master.
• Exceptional leadership, conflict‑resolution and communication skills to navigate complex organisational structures.

• Permanent contract with a competitive salary of £180k‑£220k per year.
