Delivery Manager – Agile Delivery Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to join a public sector organisation in Glasgow on a six‑month contract, with the possibility of extension. The role is primarily remote, requiring occasional visits to the office. You will own the delivery plan, manage risks, and ensure agile teams deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the team delivery plan, making scope, priorities, milestones, risks and dependencies visible and managed.
• Manage RAID at team level, escalating decisively when risks or issues threaten delivery.
• Provide delivery confidence through evidence‑based forecasting, metrics and clear narrative reporting.
• Facilitate core agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, planning, reviews, retrospectives) with purpose and outcome focus.
• Act as the owner of delivery practices, continuously improving effectiveness using data and insight.
• Identify, track and communicate dependencies with other teams and resolve or escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with other Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Engineering Leads and Release Management to ensure alignment.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Delivery Manager or equivalent within an agile delivery team.
• Comfortable holding a delivery plan and RAID, not just facilitating process.
• Strong ability to drive teams toward outcomes in ambiguous, fast‑changing environments.
• Excellent judgement, decision‑making and the capacity to challenge behaviours that undermine delivery.

Required skills

• Practical experience of Scrum, Kanban or blended agile approaches.
• Ability to lead agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement.
