Dental Officer – Public Dental Service (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Public Dental Service is recruiting two Dental Officers on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Working Monday to Friday, 8:30 am‑4:30 pm, you will provide clinical and domiciliary dental care for a diverse patient base, including paediatric, special‑care, and vulnerable groups.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality dental treatment to registered and unregistered patients across multiple sites.
• Provide domiciliary (home‑visit) care for patients with complex needs.
• Support paediatric, special‑care, priority and vulnerable patient pathways.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive oral health services.
• Participate in cross‑cover duties across designated bases within the Public Dental Service.

Required profile

• Registered dentist with the General Dental Council (GDC).
• Willingness to work flexibly across different locations.
• Commitment to serving patients with complex and vulnerable needs.

Required skills

• Clinical dentistry competence.
