Department Manager

About the role

GXO Logistics is seeking an experienced Department Manager to lead a high‑performing warehouse team within its flagship eCommerce operation for River Island in Milton Keynes. You will be responsible for balancing people, performance and customer expectations while driving operational excellence in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor KPIs, progress and costs against budget to ensure operational performance.
• Create and sustain a positive team culture, encouraging involvement and communication.
• Allocate daily work to meet cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Promote flexibility through skills training and personal development initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a complex, fast‑moving logistics or warehouse setting, ideally within eCommerce.
• Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of end‑to‑end warehouse processes and health & safety standards.

Required skills

• IOSH (Health and Safety) certification – highly desirable.
