Department Manager

About the role

As a Department Manager at GO Outdoors you will lead a defined area of the store, ensuring an exceptional shopping experience and a motivating environment for colleagues. You will work closely with the Store Manager to drive sales, uphold safety standards, and develop talent within your team.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in leading a high‑performing, engaged team.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and exceed customer expectations.
• Develop staff through internal training programmes and career pathways.
• Maintain a safe, compliant store environment for colleagues and customers.
• Achieve or surpass financial targets and key performance indicators such as sales, conversion, and average transaction value.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations, including opening/closing procedures and cash handling.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and schedule management to ensure proper coverage.

Required profile

• Strong coaching, mentoring and team‑building abilities.
• Confident, motivational communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
• Ability to drive results while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
