Deployed Software Engineer – AI/Robotics

About the role

We are looking for a Deployed Software Engineer to join a fast‑growing deep‑tech company at the intersection of AI, robotics and autonomous systems. The role blends software development with hands‑on field work, requiring you to travel to customer sites, integrate complex hardware‑software solutions and deliver working code that runs in demanding real‑world environments.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations, understand use cases and deploy products into live environments.
• Write and maintain code that connects data sources and solves specific, complex customer problems on site.
• Interface with, test and calibrate robotic and autonomous systems under real‑world conditions.
• Refine implementations in close collaboration with customers to maximise value.
• Collaborate with a distributed team of engineers across AI/ML, networking and robotics.
• Promote a culture of engineering excellence within the team and the wider organisation.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Strong programming ability in server‑side languages (C++, Java, Rust, Python) or front‑end technologies (TypeScript/JavaScript, Angular, React).
• Enthusiasm for working across a diverse and evolving technology stack.
• Confident customer‑facing communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work on‑site as required.
• Right to work in the UK and ability to obtain Security Check (SC) level vetting.
