Deployed Software Engineer

About the role

Arondite builds foundational software that helps operators orchestrate their platforms and make mission-critical decisions faster, with technology designed for deployment in austere environments. As a Deployed Software Engineer you will implement the company's technology with customers so it solves their real-world problems, collect user feedback and help shape core product features. The role involves frequent travel to customer sites in the UK and abroad, sometimes to offices and sometimes to testing or exercise sites in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to meet users and understand their use cases
• Deploy products into customer environments
• Write code to connect data sources and solve specific customer problems
• Interface with and test autonomous and robotic systems in the field
• Iterate with customers to refine the implementation and maximise user value
• Collaborate with deployed engineers covering AI/ML, networking and robotics
• Drive a culture of excellence within the deployed team and the wider company

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical/scientific subject
• Strong customer-facing communication skills
• Willingness to travel and work on-site with customers
• Right to work in the UK at the time of application
• Security clearance or willingness to undergo UK security vetting to Security Check (SC) or above, which normally requires at least 5 years of continuous UK residency
• Office-first approach, with occasional home work and customer visits

Required skills

• Core server-side programming in C++, Java, Rust or Python, or front-end development in TypeScript or JavaScript with Angular or React
• Enthusiasm for a diverse technology stack
• Nice to have: embedded/resource-constrained devices, legacy systems, PostgreSQL, machine learning applications and hardware experience
